Milestones

The company’s history, rich in tradition, dates back to 1956. Since then, the engineering office founded by electrical engineer Friedrich Horst Papenmeier has enjoyed impressive success in the field of applied electrical engineering.

1956

Founded as an engineering office

For Friedrich Horst Papenmeier, good licensing income from an invention and the determination to realize new ideas in his own company are the starting capital for the program: consulting in the field of applied electrical engineering.

BRAILLEX stored information and displayed it in Braille on the electronic Braille display. Information could be entered via the keyboard and saved under a keyword. The information could be called up again later using this keyword. BRAILLEX became very popular. Users preferred BRAILLEX mainly because it was easy to use and displayed information quickly.

New building on Hörder Strasse

In 1966, the original company building finally became too small for the number of employees and production. For this reason, Papenmeier built the first of its current two company buildings on Hörder Strasse. Here you can see pictures of the different construction phases of this building.
